Hi my name is Helen Richardson and I am the owner of Boutique Spanish Weddings. I have been living in Nerja for 16 years now and working
within its wedding industry for 8 years. I absolutely love planning weddings and getting to know each of my couples individually and create
their perfect day together

Please give me a couple of sentences about your business/services.
Using tried and trusted suppliers that I have used and worked with over the years. I help couples plan their wedding day making each wedding bespoke and organised according to the couples ideas and dreams.
I offer a full wedding package to help couples plan everything from the venue right through to flowers and decor as well as co ordinating the day. I also offer a coordination package as well where I can help couples day go smoothly once they have made their plans
How long have you been operating and what inspired you to start?
Boutique Spanish Weddings has been running for 3 years before I ran the front of house and in house planning of our catering company. Food for Thought. Helping our existing couples who had us booked for catering to organise their day and help it to run well on the day itself inspired me
to create my own planning company.
Can you outline one or two of your highlights from your 2019 wedding season?
My highlight from last year – that’s a tricky one as all my couples have such unique days that each and every one of them is special, from their ceremony to their receptions afterwards. I work with so many talented suppliers all offering something creative towards the day, from Nikki creating personal ceremonies mentioning cats, favourite songs and inside jokes to special moments captured by my photographers, they are all highlights!
What is your unique selling point? What sets you apart from other similar suppliers in the area? Probably one of my funniest moments is seeing one of my brides on a white inflatable swan in the middle of the venues swimming pool, then the party really did get started!
What is your ‘Funniest Wedding Moment’?
There is always quite a few to choose from, but I got the best laugh when a bride to be had been searching for a particular style of shoes she wanted for her wedding day. She was disappointed she couldn’t get them. However, a few days before her wedding we met up and I was wearing the shoes she had been looking for. It was my first time to wear them. I took them off there and then and gave them to her and I wore her flip flops. We had a good giggle about that one
